Lorentz Bults has worked as a lawyer since 2004, gaining experience in private practice, business and government. He has advised many companies on matters where law and technology meet.
He studied law at the University of Amsterdam, specialising in IT and corporate law. Data & Business Legal was founded to give clients personal and specialised support.
Alongside his legal practice, Lorentz Bults is a deputy judge in the Dutch judiciary and a reserve officer in the Royal Netherlands Navy. He regularly speaks and writes on AI regulation and privacy.

In the Legal Practice Areas Register of the Netherlands Bar (Nederlandse orde van advocaten), Lorentz Bults has registered general practice as his principal legal practice area and civil law as a secondary area. On the basis of this registration, he is required, in accordance with the standards of the Netherlands Bar, to obtain ten training credits each calendar year in each registered principal legal practice area.
